Body Building/Body-Building_30.txt

Body building is a phrase that conjures a thousand pictures in people minds, but what exactly is it? The term is generally used to describe any form of physical activity in which proper dieting and exercise is used to develop a great body for the purposes of vanity or for competitive sports. The result of these intensive training and dietary programs is visible in the form of strong and toned muscles, which creates a very attractive and sexy appeal for those professional and amateur body builders. With all the appeal that body building offers, how do you ensure that all standards will be realized and the main criteria shall be fulfilled? You need to ensure that the right amount of exercise and the intake of highly nutritious food is observed in order to achieve all of the desired results.

Every successful body building program needs a systematic and effective weight lifting program. The weight lifting routines can be rather demanding, therefore a high level of strength and endurance is usually necessary. Today, not everyone that performs rigorous weight lifting exercises are doing it for competition or sports, some are only interested to develop a great physique. It is very helpful in assisting the body to recover after a serious injury while building an attractive physique at the same time. It is good to include weight lifting into any health or rehabilitation program, under the strict guidance of a medical professional.

The next element of a successful body building program is the use of proper diet. Ideally the suggested best ratio of protein, carbohydrate and fat would be 2:2:1. The energy you need for those exercises comes from carbohydrate, and mostly from complex carbohydrates. There are plenty of delicious carbohydrates for that fast energy action such as brown rice, oatmeal and sweet potato. For a healthy bowel system, include a nice portion of fiber rich food such as vegetables and broccoli.

You need to drink plenty of fresh water during your body building program to help hydrate the cells and prevent your body from using your muscle mass. One good habit to follow is to start each session at the gym by drinking plenty of fresh water and end each session with some fresh liquids as well. Water is important to keep you alert, so drink plenty of it during breaks at the gym, before you start a new set of exercises. It is a good idea to have a training instructor to help you develop the right lifting techniques and proper stimulation of the body parts to ensure you do not create any long time damage to those healthy tendons and ligaments.
